Local pastor holds key post in Presbytery

April 27, 2008

THE UPPER Ohio Valley Presbytery, which includes 89 Presbyterian churches in Ohio and West Virginia, appears to be getting off to a good start in activities this year, according to the Rev. Andrew Woods, moderator.

Woods, who is pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Barnesville, was referring to a Presbytery meeting held Tuesday at New Martinsville. It was the second of five meetings, scheduled to be held while the Barnesville minister is moderator.

Honored at the meeting was Milton Ronsheim, a Cadiz man who was instrumental in starting The Connector, a publication which goes out to every Presbyterian home in the Presbytery.

Woods said Ronsheim began his work to start The Connector 20 years ago. Prior to that time, newsletters were sent to the homes of Presbyterians.
