July 5, 2008

A 62-year-old woman was pronounced dead on the Fourth of July after a one vehicle crash occurred on SR 150, four tenths of a mile west of milepost 12, in Warren Township, in Jefferson County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol in Wintersville is still investigating the fatal crash that took the life of Linda M. Calvert of 3792 Avon Lake Road, Litchfield, Ohio, around 3:45 p.m. Calvert was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, heading westbound on SR 150 when a large branch from a tree that had snapped off during a rain storm, struck her vehicle and crushed the roof. The vehicle traveled off the roadway and down an embankment but did not injure Calvert’s husband Clyde E. Calvert, 62, same address, who was seated in the passenger side of the vehicle. Aimee and Todd Herrick of Brunswick, Ohio, were passengers, seated in the rear of the truck and they also were not injured.
