Decking the halls

Helping put the final touches on the dramatic 10 foot tall Christmas tree in the dining room of the Victorian Mansion Museum operated by the Belmont County Historical Society are members Nancy Moore and Jeffrey Van Horn. Van Horn is chair of the museum’s 2007 Christmas Decorating Committee.
November 24, 2007

The holiday season has arrived according to members of the Belmont County Historical Society, as they celebrate opening “The Magic of Christmas” tour now on display throughout most of the 26 rooms of the Victorian Mansion Museum in Barnesville maintained and operated by the organization.

Professional decorators and designers – among which are some new participants, historical society members and a core group of volunteers have worked for months on plans and designs all with one common goal: celebrating the holiday season and the rich history of this region in such a way that anyone entering the mansion is instantly aware of a tangible sense of warmth and elegance typical of such a grand home at that time.
